Creative competition for schoolchildren culminates on Sunday
Before the European Race Walking Team Championships, the Czech Athletic Federation announced a creative competition for primary and kindergarten schools in Poděbrady, the main theme of which is walking. Each school could thus jointly create and present their art work in the form of drawings or spatial objects. The announcement will take place in the Fan Zone of the championships on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Six kindergartens and two primary schools took part in the competition. The finished products will be displayed in the Fan Zone of Kids’ Athletics by the fountain, and each participant will have the opportunity to rate and vote for one of the displayed art works from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Prizes for the winning schools will be kits of athletic equipment for schools and small gifts from the “Jsem atlet” (“I'm an Athlete”) collection.
The Fan Zone for children and their parents will be open on Sunday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grassy area by the fountain. Athletic events will be prepared, which are intended for children as young as 4 years old. In addition, all participating children will be rewarded with gifts, a meeting with a Czech athletic team representative and our favourite Atík the hare, with whom it will also be possible to take a photo. Atík also visits several kindergartens from Wednesday to Friday.
